Description

This version of Shatranj is recorded from a game played in Livorno, Italy between Francesco Piacenza and an ambassador from Egypt in the seventeenth century.

Rules

8x8 uncheckered board. Castling is done in the following sequence: the King is moved forward one square, then the Rook is moved , and the King is moved to the Rook's spot at the same time. Pawns cannot move two spaces on their first turn.
