Kakuro is similar to a crossword puzzle but using mathematics. Played on any size grid (usually 16x16), some of the squares are blacked out, leaving white squares in which play occurs. Each row and column is assigned a number. The polayer then places a number from 1 to 9 in each square so that it adds up to the assigned number in each row and column. Numbers cannot be duplicated in any row or column.
