Description
Chatrang is a game with replacement captures that was played in Sassanian Persia. It was a direct descendant of the game Chaturanga, and a precursor to Shatranj.
Rules
8x8 board. Two players. Replacement capture. Shah (King), Farzin (Ferz), Rukh, Pil (Elephant), Asp (Knight), Piyadak (Pawn) pieces.
