I have asked for something like this many times, and I'm doing it again.
I want a way to assign an integer value to a state that is independent of pieces. This state should be set explicitly and not changed unless explicitly changed. The state we have now is associated with the pieces. Say there is a stone on site 88. If I set the state of that site to 1 and remove the stone, the state is set to 0. I want a kind of state that doesn't do this.
Can we please have a kind of state that is properly associated with sites?
Something like (set SiteState at:<int> <int>) for setting the state, and (SiteState at:<int>) to get the state.
