I've been playing some Draughts lately, and have noticed that the rules for Makvœr in Ludii derive from HJR Murray; however, this page by Mats Winther clarifies that Murray's translation is incorrect, and the real game is substantially different.
In essence, it's a 10x10 Frisian Checkers variant where Kings may also slide orthogonally (landing only on dark squares). Ultimately it's a much more wild game than Murray's interpretation

Thanks for sending on that clarification. As often proves to be the case, Murray was wrong, again! Indeed, the original was hard to understand, but these interpretations presented on the site you sent are much more convincing than Murray's. We will correct the rules shortly.

Murray's work was monumental, but in the years since it seems we find more and more errors. I ran into this same problem when implementing Grant Acedrex; recent work has significantly changed our understanding of the rules compared to what Murray reported (see here).
Mats' site contains a lot of useful information on Draughts variants, so there are plenty more interesting ones to add to Ludii if you choose!
