I just read in a review, that during the initial phase, stones cannot be placed on the edge. I did not see this rule in any of the sources I could find. Many of the sources on BGG seem to be broken links.

I just added Unlur, it will be available in the next release.
But yes now that you mention that, I just read that yes the pieces can not be placed in the edges during the first phase.
Can you update your lud to take that in account?

I am happy to update it. However I still have not found where that is stated. I have only seen it in a review, which I suspect does not count as a source.

I am not French, but I have access to google translate. Does that count?
Anyway Google translate tells me: "During this phase, players are not allowed to play on the edge."
So the sources seem to conflict. I propose making it a option, but I don't know which should be the default. My source was the Spanish one, which does not have the Edge rule.

If your source is the Spanish one, I think that should be the default one. But maybe you can also send a mail to the designer to check with him, the game can be updated later if needed.

I managed to find enough information on the designer's blog. I had to pass the entire text through google translate paragraph by paragraph. However it is clear that the original version did not have the Edge rule, but that the designer considers the Edge rule an important improvement. As such I consider the Edge Rule the default.
I have attached the updated .lud file. I changed the source to the French page and enhanced the origins section.
I have not found an email or contact page. However he does have a BGG profile page. Do I understand you already have permission some how?

I have noticed an issue with the implementation if the Edge rule is not in force. If neither player passes, but the Black victory condition is fulfilled then P2 wins. In real-life the players would always pass. It can't happen if the Edge rule is in force (not that this is the reason for the Edge rule). But I am thinking maybe I should drop the option to not have the edge rule.
On the other hand it would be easy enough to fix and still retain the option.
EDIT: I have attached a version which fixes the "no passing" bug and also explains the origin of the Edge rule.
