Hello,
Taiwanese players at the Computer Olympiad are having trouble with Ludii in remote mode. The application would take a long time to respond, preventing from playing games, at least in some cases. Communication time between Tawaïn and the Ludii serveurs is certainly not improvable, but maybe there is a way to keep the graphical interface usable. Communication time should also not be taken into account in the game's timeout.

I have some troubles using Ludii in remote mode. Every action I did after login was very laggy. I have to wait like 20 second to the open menu bar. Maybe it is possible to make GUI more usable in condition of long reponse time?

Thanks for pointing this out.
I will investigate if we can add an option to reduce the server polling frequency for cases where the response time is long. This will also reduce the frequency with which moves are sent/received from the server though, so it should not be used in games where time is important.

Hi,
In the latest release of Ludii (1.1.7) we have added two checkboxes at the bottom of the "Advanced" preferences dialog (Ludii -> Preferences -> Advanced)
These are for polling the ludii server/network less frequently, and for disabling the automatic refresh for the network dialog.
Please try these both out and see if they help with your remote problems.
