MC-GRAVE plays Hex better but still not well. Is MC-GRAVE better in most games or just certain types of game?

Just certain types of games. MC-GRAVE will generally be better in games where the outcome of a game (or even the legality of moves) would remain exactly the same, if you were to shuffle around the order in which the full sequence of moves played in a game. Hex is an example of such a game; the order in which all moves of a full game of Hex were played does not change the end result. Games like Chess, Breakthrough, Shogi, Amazons, etc. are not such games; moves often wouldn't even be legal anymore if played in a different order!

But as I said, we're working on having Ludii be aware of its best AI for every game, and an option to have it automatically select the best one available for any particular game.

I don't see a new question or remark about what you quoted there? Smile

But what I described there is in fact live already in the current latest version on the website (0.9.0). Just select "Ludii AI" in the drop-down, and it will automatically pick algorithms depending on the game it's playing.
