Certain games, (eg multi dimensional Tic tac toe, but also Fire and Ice, Shobu and others) are played on an array of boards, or a board filled with sub-boards.
For these games it would be good to have a board generator, together with > 2 dimensional referencing of the cells. Please consider this when implementing 3D board to be general enough to include this.
And also, from a display point of view toroidal boards can also be displayed as a grid of boards - essentially moving stacks around on a tilled 3D board, with speciall edge linkages.

Yes we agreed on this, and this is in our todo list, but we never worked on this ludeme.
If we do it one day, you will see it in the list of news in one of the future release.
