Brood and Manifold - Michael - 06-16-2022

Thanks to the hard work of Dale, I now have two new games to submit :)
I designed these, but Dale scripted them (apart from some relatively trivial changes I have made).

Btw, Brood is experimental in the sense that I might change it's placement protocol to be the same as Manifold, but it's partly an empirical question which protocol is best, so it might take some time to figure out.

I went ahead and added both candidate placement protocols as options on Brood.
There is absolutely no hurry in updating it, but I have attached the .lud here.

I updated it in Ludii too.

RE: Brood and Manifold - Michael - 10-14-2022

I recently realized that the text inside (rules) in Brood is wrong.

The following

Quote:Play:
On your turn, you must take one of the following two actions:
• Place 1 stone of your color
• Place 2 stones of a neutral color
Placement is always onto empty cells.

In this implementation,
(i) to place a piece of your color, you simply click an empty cell,
(ii) to place two neutrals, first click the neutral piece above the board, then two empty cells.

When the board is full, the player with the higher score wins.

should be replaced with the following

Quote:Play:
On the very first turn of the game, Black places one stone of their color on any hex.
After, that – starting with White – take turns doing one of the following:
• Pass.
• Place two stones of your color on empty hexes.

When the players pass consecutively, the winner is the player with the higher score.
