The latest Ludii release is here, and it’s packed with exciting new content! This update introduces over 100 new games, many of which stem from a master’s thesis on Shibumi games, contributions from the Ludii community, and games designed for the Kaggle competition "Game-Playing Strength of MCTS Variants" (https://www.kaggle.com/competitions/um-game-playing-strength-of-mcts-variants). To support these new games, new ludemes have been added, allowing Ludii to represent the 3D mechanics necessary for Shibumi-based gameplay. These additions highlight the flexibility and continuous evolution of the system. Beyond new games, this release also reflects the growing activity within the Ludii community, with members actively designing new games and improving the system. More games and features are already in development and will be integrated into future releases. In parallel, the GameTable COST Action is discussing interface improvements to make Ludii more accessible to a wider audience. Additionally, new funding proposals have been submitted to expand research and development efforts related to Ludii. If successful, these initiatives could lead to a larger Ludii team and more frequent releases. Stay tuned for more updates as Ludii continues to evolve!
